Dave Dickey

CEO, Sales Consultant, Second Story Sales Company

Dave is an experienced sales leader of health and healthcare services. He began his career with Aetna in various sales, account management, sales training and sales management roles across small, mid-sized and national accounts including clients like HCA, Yum Brands and Lincoln Financial. Dave was also one of the early employees of Definity Health, the inventors of Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and the pioneer of Consumer Driven Healthcare Plans (CDHPs) where he was responsible for regional employer sales, consumer sales and account management growth. In four years, sales for the company grew to $100M and Dave lead the sales efforts on companies like ConAgra, Charter Communications, Coors Brewing, and Sara Lee.

Upon the company's sale to United Health Group, he became President of the Healthcare Transformation Group within United's National Accounts Division and grew net new revenues for United by $50M in two years. Dave then co-founded RedBrick Health (now Virgin Pulse), a health and wellness company dedicated to changing the financing to reward consumer healthy lifestyles and was responsible for forging relationships with companies like Target Corporation and Ridgeview Medical Center. In 2009, Dave co-founded The Second Story Sales Company, a sales consultancy that helped young and established health service organizations. Customers included employer coalitions, health plans, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), benefit consultants, accelerators, health improvement firms, consumer advice companies and private exchange solutions. In 2013, Dave became a partner in Treehouse Health, a Minnesota health accelerator that invested in 12 companies, and brought in strategic investors like Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN and Accenture. In 2016, Dave co-founded Bind, the first On Demand Health Insurance company and lead sales until 2018 and rejoined the company in 2019 as Consultant Relations Lead. He has a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
