Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the development, administration, and evaluation of all programmatic areas for UpTurnships. This role will ensure program metrics and evaluation are in alignment with organization’s strategic growth plan as well as manage the integrated use of multiple database systems to ensure proper tracking and maintenance of programs and program participants. The person in this role must developed, cultivated, and maintained relationships with funders, employers, volunteers, community organizations, college partners, board members, program staff and participants. The Program Director will work closely with the Executive Director on setting and managing strategic programmatic goals critical to the success of UpTurnships’ mission and objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for department goals and programs using labor market trends, data analysis, and evaluation methods

  • Developing, coordinating and implementing metrics for measuring success and impact of program goals.

  • Assesses, develops, and maintains systems to ensure programs success. 

  • Provide guidance and supervision to program team consisting of program coordinator, coach volunteer team, and volunteer coaches.

  • Analyze results to understand effectiveness of programs. Ensure that accurate program information is maintained and actively tracked & analyzing key measures, tracking scaling goals, updating status on process/projects).

  • Report monthly activity to board during meetings.

  • Plan and direct growth initiatives to scale program. Determine and develop program life cycle efforts in collaboration with program team and executive director.

  • Design new programs as the organization grows and expands, design new programs to provide enhanced support for UpTurns and UpTurn alums.

  • Assist with and provide guidance for grants regarding areas of programming and program development.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of combined program leadership, management, and development experience in a non-profit or collegiate environment.

  • Experience with long-term program planning processes.

  • Expertise in program development and managing a database system in alignment with programs.

  • Strong emotional intelligence, communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt communication style to interact with various constituencies and audiences

  • Expert proficiency at using and managing multiple software systems to drive efficiencies. Strong process skills to streamline our work and an ability to display and document our process, strategies, workflow and decisions for tracking corporate partnerships, donors and connecting with key stakeholders.

  • Highly proficient technical/PC skills; expert user of Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Outlook, etc. Skilled in video conferencing. Salesforce experience desired and highly valued.

  • Superb organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure, juggle multiple tasks, and exhibit sound judgment. 

  • Able to work effectively in a primarily remote capacity. When needed be available for in-person events, key meetings, and programming.

  • Large capacity to meet the needs of a high growth, innovative organization.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, with at least five years of related successful experience demonstrating progressively increasing levels of responsibility.

Compensation/Benefits/Location

  • Salary 55k-65k. Final offer is commensurate with experience.

  • This position will be primarily remote during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Some evenings and occasional weekends may be required for various events.  

  • This position is open only to potential candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to the 7-county metro area of the Twin Cities.
