Summary

This position is responsible for the coordination of UpTurnships training programs.  This role will work primarily with program candidates and participants. This role ensures we deliver well-executed, high quality programs to our program participants and our partners. The Program Coordinator will work with many stakeholders including college and community based organization staff during recruitment of applicants, employer partners, and volunteers as well as internal staff. All efforts involve effective communication and program management, timely and effective follow-up and process improvement and tracking.

 

The person will use all the resources of UpTurnships in systems, program resources, networking, teamwork, and data to meet our program objectives.  Critical success factors include strong organization and project management skills, understanding our programs and our partner’s needs, collaborating effectively, and skills in training and facilitation to deliver well-executed programs. This role also tracks and updates key data that is used to communicate the effectiveness and value of UpTurnships for future program needs and reporting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for communication, coordination and documentation of program processes and training/curriculum development needs to team member’s; scheduling, tasks and timelines that support the mission and program needs.

  • Assists Program Director in developing expanding curriculum and training building a sustainable library for all program areas, including but not limited to:

  • Personal development skills, work readiness and financial literacy & wealth building.

  • Deliver well-executed and engaging training sessions to program participants

  • Coordinates and organizes all external speakers and outside facilitators for programming

  • Secures and coordinates training locations including online training and in-person (when applicable)

  • Manage volunteers involved in the programs including ongoing training and all communication to successfully have volunteers work with program participants

  • Thinks “outside/inside the box" and deliver innovative training solutions that are repeatable, sustainable, and cost effective.

  • Communicates and reports relevant training information to colleagues and management. 

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience in Curriculum Development/Teaching, or Training/Development or Project/Program Management, or equivalent experience.

  • Able to easily learn our software operating system to structure programs, set up, communication processes and create surveys and reports.

  • Superb organizational and time management skills

  • Able to work effectively in a primarily remote capacity. When needed be available for in-person events, key meetings, and programming.

  • Familiar with video conferencing.

  • Large capacity to meet the needs of a high growth, innovative organization.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of related successful experience.

Other Critical Factors

  • Strong organization skills with experience working with multiple stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with college students who are financially supporting themselves and understanding of their needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, promote and deliver positive results.

  • Proven ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to learn enterprise operating system’s tools for tracking jobs, donors and connecting with key stakeholders. This includes email capability as well as process management components of the operating system.

Compensation/Benefits/Location

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and starts at $41,000 annually.

  • Full health and dental benefits.

  • This position will be primarily remote during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In person time is required on programming days and events.

  • This position is open only to potential candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to the 7-county metro area of the Twin Cities.
